Migrate saves from the FTL: Hyperspace wrapper

The old macOS wrapper is no longer maintained. Its saves sit inside the wrapper and work as they are with the native release, so they only need copying out.

  1. Find the old saves inside the wrapper

    Section titled “Find the old saves inside the wrapper”

    Right-click the wrapper app, choose Show Package Contents, and look for its drive_c folder. Your saves are in:

    drive_c/Documents/My Games/FTL Faster Than Light/

  2. Find where the saves need to go

    Section titled “Find where the saves need to go”

    The native install keeps them in your own Library folder:

    ~/Library/Application Support/FasterThanLight

    Library is hidden by default. In Finder press Cmd + Shift + G and paste the path, or hold Option while opening the Go menu.

  3. Copy everything except settings.ini

    Section titled “Copy everything except settings.ini”

    Copy every file from the old folder into the new one, leaving settings.ini behind.

  4. Launch and check

    Section titled “Launch and check”

    Start FTL. Your profile, unlocks and any run in progress should be exactly where you left them.

Once you are happy everything survived, the old wrapper can be deleted.
